Mistake #3: Most Americans – perhaps almost all of them – turn to coffee when they need more energy. It’s common knowledge that coffee will make you less tired, right? Actually, this is a myth. Coffee simply gives people a temporary high that will not last the whole day and that will cause the drinker to become dependent. Instead of solving the tiredness problem, coffee will make it worse, because the longer the person drinks it, the more their body will need to get the same high. There are as many reasons not to drink coffee every day as there are not to take sleeping pills.

Mistake #4: When people have diets that don’t provide enough nutrition, they don’t always consider how it will effect their energy levels. Since we derive our energy from our food as well as our sleep, putting the right food into our bodies, as well as eating enough and not skipping meals, is the quickest way to give ourselves more energy.

Iron deficiencies can cause extreme exhaustion when they lead to anemia. If you feel tired all day long, you can try eating iron-rich foods or taking iron supplements.
