Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a Cardiovascular Risk Factor in Stroke Patients

Study suggests patients with obstructive sleep apnea and a former stroke victim has a higher rate of death. Out of 132 patients enrolled, only 116 survived over a ten year follow up. The risk of death was higher among the 23 patients with obstructive sleep apnea. The conclusions suggest that patients with stroke and obstructive sleep apnea have increased risk in an early death.
